Japan has a long tradition of talented DJs and beatmakers - DJ Krush, DJ Honda, Muro and more recently Kentaro. Another Japanese producer and DJ who’s made a name for himself worldwide in the last few years is Mitsu the Beats, the alias of a diminutive yet very talented Sendai City native who stormed everyone’s favourite charts a few years back thanks to his first solo LP, ‘A New Awakening’, and his group’s, GAGLE, first album. Signed to the Jazzy Sport label in Japan, Mitsu the Beats soon found himself being name checked by the likes of Pete Rock, Gilles Peterson and DJ Spinna after relasing his LP.

Dj Honda (born in Hokkaidō, Japan in 1965) has collaborated with Mos Def, Afu Ra, JuJu, Cuban Link, Grand Puba, Sadat X, The Beatnuts, Fat Joe, Biz Markie, Gang Starr, Redman, Keith Murray, Jeru The Damaja, Shawn J. Period, and De La Soul. Honda also released an album with EPMD’s PMD, entitled Underground Connection in 2002.
Problemz (born in Brooklyn, USA) is a member of the Missin Linx & Big City crew and made his real debut on DJ Honda album ‘DJ Honda‘.

Sleeping With the Enemy is the second album of militant Black nationalist rapper Paris (born in San Francisco, California). Released in 1992, it stimulated much controversy with the songs “Bush Killa” (”a revenge fantasy about the assassination of then president” George H. W. Bush) and “Coffee, Donuts & Death,” (”a cop-killing tirade”). It also featured a young DJ Shadow on production.
Originally scheduled for a pre-presidential election release in 1992, the album was eventually released on Paris’ own Scarface Records after Time Warner shareholders and media pressure prevented then Warner-subsidiary Tommy Boy Records from releasing the project. NjoY! Read the rest of this entry

Das EFX is a group formed by Skoob (also known as Books) and Dre (also known as Krazy Drayzy).
